This storyline has a slow burn which delighted me.

Readers of this series will remember mentions of the primary male character, Manu a mountain elf, leader of Navara, who has been in previous books to this series, so I was familiar with him and enjoyed getting to know him better. Manu loves and protects his people, always putting them first.

Inej is a human and the primary female character bent on revenge after the disappearance of a co-worker. Author Donna Grant does a great job of using Inej’s anger to further the storyline as she works on getting close to Manu who she thinks is evil and causing all the problems with disappearing people.

If you have read the other books to this series, you will see that there are many twisting and turning plots as well as super-hot love stories throughout the whole series.

I recommend this series and this book to any reader and give it 5 STARS.
