DESCRIPTION
She wasn’t supposed to fall for the archer.
He wasn’t supposed to fall for the scandal.
Kathleen Andelit is doing everything she can to keep a low profile in London while living with her disgraced sister. But one wrong turn, one lingering look at a handsome archer in the park, and she finds herself caught, literally and figuratively, in the sights of a very intriguing gentleman.
What begins as a foolish wager soon becomes much more.
Lord Leopold Chance, son of a duke and tarnished by a scandal of his own, knows better than to be seen with a woman carrying Society’s disapproval. But when Kathleen challenges him to teach her archery, he agrees, if only to get her out of his mind.
Secret lessons turn into stolen kisses.
Attraction becomes affection.
And before long, love is the most dangerous risk of all.
But when a second wager threatens the fragile bond they’ve built, and interfering families stir up the past, Leopold and Kathleen must decide if this chance at love is worth defying every rule.

REVIEW
Readers of this series will remember mentions of the younger brother, Lord Leopold Chance, from previous books. Those glances of him did not give you enough of an opinion of his personality…. Just a hint to intrigue you. To be fair the very first sighting of him in this book did draw my attention quickly but it wasn’t till closer to the end that I became enamored with his character and fully grasped who he was as a person. He would be someone that any woman would want to fall in love with.
Opposite feelings happened with Kathleen Andelit’s character. From the first page I loved her character and though it was so out of standard for the era I loved her and enjoyed her stand on all things in her life. I would have loved to have her outlook on life back then though it would or could be a very ostracized life.
The storyline was fun and fast paced. Several themes ran at the same time. Her sister Angela and her unfortunate incident, Leopold’s disgrace, and Kathleen’s belief and support of her sister. There was a bad guy which added to the drama, and I think that he was the added spice to this lovely love story.
I give it 4 STARS for the feel-good feelings at the end of the book.
