The Lyon’s Love Letters by Deb Marlowe [REVIEW]

SPORTOCHICK’S MUSINGS: If you want a fast enjoyable read this is your book.

Enter the world of the most notorious gambling den in London, where matches are made… unusually. Welcome to the world of THE LYON’S DEN: The Black Widow of Whitehall Connected World, where the underground of Regency London thrives… and loves.

Who would be so foolish as to blackmail the Black Widow of Whitehall?

Lady Anna Parbury is in trouble. Her father has passed on and his estates and title have passed to her cousin. It’s not enough, apparently, for her cousin wants the fortune Anna’s father left in trust for her, and he’s willing to compromise her—or worse—to get it.

But Anna has discovered her charming rogue of a father was also a charming rogue of a blackmailer, and that leads to brand-new sorts of trouble—like Mr. Elliott Ward, who has arrived looking for the evidence her father held against someone he cares for. And like Mrs. Dove-Lyon, the famous Black Widow of Whitehall, who has come for the same reason—and with a bargain in mind: Anna will give the Black Widow the files Anna’s father held over her, and in exchange, she will find the girl a husband.

But all Anna wants is her fortune and her freedom. To get it, she’ll have to team up with Mr. Ward and Mrs. Dove-Lyon. The stakes are high as they battle lies, threats, and thugs, but the Black Widow is betting that she can fix this game of love.

Simply delightful. I loved this lighthearted, easy read storyline filled with heart and caring. Both Elliot and Anna are unusually honest and kind with a strong desire for justice. They make a great team as they work to foil the bad guys and save everyone in regards to the documents of her deceased father.

The reader will find in this book that Mrs. Dove-Lyon, the Black Widow, is not always an automation in her dealings with people especially those she trusts which are few and far between. In this book you will get to see a softer side of her and she becomes more real to the reader.

If you want a fast enjoyable read this is your book.

What I learned from this book is that when everything seems hopeless hope shows up.
