The Devil in Blue Jeans by Stacey Kennedy [REVIEW]

SPORTOCHICK’S MUSINGS: Author Stacey Kennedy does a great job of showing deep emotions regarding trust and forgiveness within this enemy to lover story.

DESCRIPTION

A sharp, emotional novel about a tough-minded bar owner who makes a deal with a devil of a cowboy—and might just get burned…

Moving to Montana to buy a dive bar with her two best friends sounds like a can’t-miss idea to Charly Henwood. The scenery is breathtaking, and the cowboys aren’t bad-looking either. Not that Charly’s interested. Her heart is as unmovable as the surrounding mountains. After her cheating ex-boyfriend destroyed their relationship and their nightclub, she’s determined to take care of herself, her friends and their bar.

But it turns out the regulars resent newcomers swapping their craft beer for an extensive cocktail menu. One is particularly not happy—The Naked Moose’s previous owner, Jaxon Reed. The last thing Charly needs is a cocky cowboy telling her how to run her bar, or her life. But maybe she can use Jaxon to her advantage. If he’ll agree to be the prize in a charity auction, Charly will make the bar a little more cowboy-friendly.

When that plan backfires, Charly finds herself doing battle with the biggest temptation in Timber Falls. A man who has made it his mission to win her over, using every infernal means at his disposal. And if her resolve goes up in flames, her heart is sure to follow…

From showing up to glowing up, these characters are on the path to leading their best lives and finding sizzling romance along the way.

REVIEW

The Devil in Blue Jeans by Stacey Kennedy Book 1: Naked Moose Series

I love the Prologue of The Devil In Blue Jeans it does an excellent job of setting up the storyline for future stories of three best friends Charly Henwood, Aubrey Hale and Willow Quinn in a somewhat mystical way.

Now fast forward to six years later. I love the friendship between these three girlfriends and how they support each other though life’s disappointments. The author knows how to weave life’s disappointments and challenges into a love story with spark.

Charly is recovering from a cheating ex-boyfriend, so she is off all men and relationships. So of course, she can be a little prickly and defensive around the aggressive Jaxon Reed who continues to hit all her trigger buttons.

Jax is very sexy and comes off aggressive in the beginning but throughout the book the reader will see that he is above all things protective for everyone around him.

This book deals with trust that is broken, forgiveness, and love. There are areas of the book where I cried, specifically when Charly visited her ex-boyfriend in the hospital. I loved how the author handled this. I cried and felt such compassion for everyone in this chapter. It also deals with letting go of anger and learning to trust and love again.

I think the reader will love this book and how the three girlfriends support and protect each other.

I give it 4 stars.
