For Willa Ryan, family is everything. So, when her brother asks her to locate a book of unparalleled power, she doesnโ€™t hesitate. Except she does more than find it. She attempts to steal it, and in the process, ends up running for her lifeโ€”straight into the arms of a man waiting to rescue her. Jasper is unlike anyone sheโ€™s ever met, and sheโ€™s helpless to resist the undeniable passion between them. But desire always comes at a cost.

Jasper McCabe is a master of disguise and deception, and he uses both ruthlessly. Yet nothing can prepare him when he comes face-to-face with the breathtaking women heโ€™s supposed to use for his ruse. Every instinct screams for him to run as far from Willa as he can. But thereโ€™s no escape from the captivating Druid and the feelings she awakens. With his darkest enemies closing in, Jasper is forced to choose with his heart, or lose the woman who is his one chance at salvation.

REVIEW

One of the things I love about reading is when there is no clear obvious ending. I love solving puzzles and a phenomenal author satisfies this part of my brain. Another thing I love is detailed expansive descriptions of people, places, and things.

Author Donna Grant pushes all these buttons in this exciting Book 4 of the Skye Druids series. The author pulls you in with a solid plot and interesting characters so right away from page one the reader will feel committed to reading the book in one sitting.

Chapter one grabs the reader with an extremely fast paced mix of intrigue and danger involving Willa and her father Luke Ryan. Willa is the primary female character in this book. If you read any of the previous books to this series, you would have met her brother Scott and Elodie from Iron Ember Book 1 of the series.

Jasper McCabe is the primary male character and though I liked his character and his role in the book I did not feel he was as dynamic as the previous male characters in the other books to this series. Though to be fair he was the perfect male counterpart for Willa in every way.

I enjoyed this book and gave it 4.5 STARS.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are mine.
